Description of government structure:
- Chief of State: Queen ELIZABETH II *
- Head of Government: Prime Minister Keith MITCHELL
- Assembly: Grenada has a bicameral Parliament consisting of the Senate with 13 seats and the House of Representatives with 15 seats.
* Queen Elizabeth II is represented by Governor-General Carlyle Arnold GLEAN.
Description of electoral system:
- The Queen is the hereditary head of state.
- The Prime Minister is elected by parliament.
- In the Senate, 10 members are appointed by the government to serve 5-year terms and 3 members are appointed by the opposition to serve 5-year terms. In the House of Representatives 15 members are elected by simple majority vote in single-member constituencies to serve 5-year terms.
