- The Prime Minister is elected by parliament.
- In the Senate, 10 members are appointed by the government to serve 5-year terms and 3 members are appointed by the opposition to serve 5-year terms. In the House of Representatives 15 members are elected by simple majority vote in single-member constituencies to serve 5-year terms.
