At Stake in this Election:  

  • All 19 members of the Parliament of Nauru.  

 

  • Chief of State: President David Ranibok ADEANG (since 30 October 2023) 

  • Head of Government: President David Ranibok ADEANG (since 30 October 2023) 

  • Assembly: unicameral, 19-seat parliament.  

 

  • The President is indirectly elected via Parliament for a 3-year term, renewable once. The President is both the Chief of State and Head of Government.  

  • Members of Parliament are directly elected via a plurality system to serve 3-year terms.  

 

The last parliamentary elections were held on September 24, 2022. Independents won 100% of the vote (see note below on lack of political parties). Voter turnout was 96%.
