• The President of Malta is indirectly elected by the House of Representatives to serve a single five-year term. [1]
• The House of Representatives (Il-Kamra tad-Deputati) is a unicameral legislature consisting of 65 seats elected across thirteen multi-member constituencies.* Successful candidates are elected to serve five-year terms using proportional representation, specifically by means of the single transferable vote. [2]

*The House of Representatives (Il-Kamra tad-Deputati) currently consists of 67 members following a 2016 decision by the Constitutional Court of Malta, which added two additional seats to correct for errors made in the 2013 vote-counting process. [3]
