USIP Report on New Media & Conflict after Arab Spring

The purpose of the report from the United States Institute of Peace is to analyze the use of social media during the Arab Spring protests of 2011-2012. This report building upon work done in previous reports, the authors of "Blogs and Bullets II: New Media and Conflict after the Arab Spring" have used a dataset from the URL shorter associated with twitter and facebook. By using this data, the authors have been able to test claims about the role of social media in bringing down autocratic regimes in the region.
