Two opposition members in Dominica win by-elections

After forfeiting their seats in a parliamentary boycott, two members of Dominica’s opposition United Workers Party regained their seats in by-elections last Friday. Both Edison JAMES and Hector JOHN sought to raise awareness of alleged fraud in December’s general elections by boycotting three consecutive sessions of Parliament. In that election, the United Workers Party captured three seats, and the ruling Dominica Labour Party won eighteen seats.
