Government Structure: Chiefs of State

This report allows you to compare the ways in which Chiefs of State are chosen and how long such offices are held. Note that the data presented here draw from Election Profiles, which show a snapshot of the government structure at the time of that particular election, as well as from Country Profiles, which store the current government structure information. This allows you to view changes in the government structure over time. The date in the right-hand column shows either the date of the Election Profile or displays the word “Current”, which denotes Country Profile data. Click the date to view the Election Profile or the Current link to view the Country Profile. Only Election Profiles with results posted will be returned in Reports.
