Description of electoral system:

  • The President is elected by popular vote to serve a 5-year term.
  • In the House of Counties (Zupanijski Dom), 63 members are elected by popular vote to serve 4-year terms and 5 members are selected by the president to serve 4-year terms. In the House of Representatives (Zastupnicki Dom) 127 members are elected by popular vote to serve 4-year terms.**

** In the January 3rd election, between 145 and 159-members will be elected. Five of these seats are elected by specific minority groups.
