The OSCE has released a preliminary report on its findings from the Georgian parliamentary elections held on Sunday, October 1. According to the OSCE: "The assessment was made to determine whether the elections complied with the OSCE and Council of Europe commitments for democratic elections, as well as with the legislation of Georgia." The report focuses on several key aspects of the electoral process, which include the electoral system and legal framework, election administration, voter registration, the registration of parties and candidates, and the campaign environment. A final statement of OSCE findings will depend upon the remainder of the vote counting, tabulation and announcement of results, and post-election day issues.
