The Peace Research Institute Oslo has released the report "The Women’s Political Participation and Influence in Post-Conflict Burundi and Nepal." Although the situations in both Nepal and Burundi are different, the achievements and challenges both countries have faced regarding the role of women in politics are similar. Women in both Nepal and Burundi have traditionally been kept out of public life and were not involved in either country's peace process. However, both countries have made an effort to involve women in the political process during these post-conflict years. Drawing upon the information gained in interviews with actors in both Nepal and Burundi, this report looks to examine the achievements that have been made and the challenges still faced by women in these post-conflict scenarios.
