Vision of Humanity has released the results of its Global Peace Index (GPI) for 2010. This is the fourth edition of the index, which gauges ongoing domestic and international conflict, safety and security in society, and militarization in 149 countries. The index is composed of 23 qualitative and quantitative indicators and combines internal and external factors such as a nation’s level of military expenditures, its relations with neighboring countries, and its level of respect for human rights.
