The top two candidates from the first round of Colombia's presidential election, President Juan Manuel SANTOS Calderón of the National Unity alliance and Óscar Iván ZULUAGA of the Democratic Center party competed in a run-off on Sunday, 15 June .[i] According to Colombia’s National Electoral Council (CNE) SANTOS won the election with 51 percent of the vote, while ZULUAGA garnered 45 percent.[ii] Approximately 15 million votes were cast out of 32,795,692 registered voters.[iii] SANTOS will be sworn in on 7 August 2014 for his second four-year term.
