Voters in Timor-Leste on Saturday ousted President and independence hero José RAMOS-HORTA. Preliminary results show that Fretilin party candidate Francisco Lu Olo GUTERRES was leading the presidential race with 28% of the vote, while Taur MATAN RUAK was in second with 25%. RAMOS-HORTA picked up just 18% of the votes. MATAN RUAK and GUTERRES, as the top two finishers, will go through to a run-off election in mid-April.
