Voters in Paraguay on Sunday voted in favor of a proposal to allow citizens living abroad to vote in general elections. According to Electoral officials, around 80 percent of voters supported the proposal, although turnout for the referendum was only around 13 percent. Congress will still have to approve the measure for it to become law. More than half a million Paraguayans, out of the country’s six million citizens, live outside its borders.
