Norway votes in local elections

Norwegian went to the polls on Monday to vote for county and municipal councils. This was the first election in Norway since the July 22 terrorist attack that killed 77 people. The opposition Conservative Party increased their support from the last election, moving to second place with 28 percent. The Labor Party of Prime Minister Jens STOLTENBERG also increased its vote share, finishing first with 32 percent. During the election, voters in ten pilot municipalities had the option of voting via the internet. Turnout was placed at almost 63 percent.
