Danish Prime Minister calls snap elections

Danish Prime Minister Lars Lokke RASMUSSEN on Friday called for early general election for 15 September. Elections were not scheduled to be held till November 12 but RASMUSSEN called the polls after he failed to push his economic stimulus bill through the parliament. RASMUSSEN’s leads a minority coalition consisting of his Liberal Party and the Conservatives. They have been supported by the Danish People's Party (DF), however, the DF failed to support Rasmussen’s stimulus bill.
