Citizens of Seychelles began voting on Thursday in presidential polls that will last three days. Incumbent President James MICHEL is likely to win a second term in office; he is facing Wavel RAMKALAWAN of the Seychelles National Party (SNP) and two other candidates. Since replacing President France Albert Rene in 2004, MICHEL has been reelected one in 2006. The election lasts three days due to logistical difficulties related to the country’s geography. The minor islands will vote on Thursday and Friday while the main islands will vote on Saturday.
