Following the election victory of his Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK) last weekend, incoming Greek Prime Minister George PAPANDREOU on Tuesday named a new cabinet. The PASOK-led government replaces Prime Minister Kostas KARAMANLIS' New Democracy Party (ND) after five years in opposition. PASOK outperformed most pre-election polls, winning 44 percent of votes to ND's 34 percent. PAPANDREOU'S father formed the party in 1974 following the collapse of a military junta.
